Care giver fatigue is a great point to bring up. Often time caregivers go through some sort of fatigue. It can mentally and physically be demanding and we should educate those who are taking upon the responsibility of care. We as nurses, can educate those caregivers on not only how to care for their loved ones but how to care for themselves.

In this situation, Susie must take on the responsibility of taking care of her mother and her family. The Department of Health and Human Resources has as Administration on Aging. This Administration works with and through the Aging Services Network to promote the development of a comprehensive home and community based long term care that is responsive to the needs of older people and their family caregivers (Edelman, Kudzma, Mandle, 2014). Programs such as the Administration on Aging have programs to help caregivers and their loved ones. As nurses, we can help these caregivers and give them information on how to access these programs for their well-being.
