Students are asked to review the developments and introduction of both garment types and new fabrications in the specified time frame and write a synopsis of no less than three pages (both sides) on the development of clothing during the Italian and Northern Renaissance, but specifically the Elizabethan period, particularly focusing on the details of both menswear and womenswear. Pictures/photos can be included in the essay.
Students are asked to compare the differences of clothing between those worn in England and other Italian and Northern Renaissance countries. In addition local regional and national costumes should be defined and mentioned. 
Students must provide historical references as covered during the lectures, together with names and terminology of actual garment pieces as worn in different parts of Europe.  
Students should also consider different cultural, political, religious and social influences during this period.
